Developer: New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Office of Information Resources Management, Bureau of Geographic Information Systems Phone: 609-984-2243 Website: www.state.nj.us/dep/gis/imapnj/imapnj.htm Email: gisnet@dep.state.nj.us i-MapNJ is an interactive environmental mapping tool that provides information about specific neighborhoods, counties, or the entire state. Homeowners can find out what's in their backyard and environmental organizations, planners, and builders can identify open space, various regulatory boundaries, sensitive lands, watersheds, and much more. The software enables users to view and perform basic GIS analyses on regulated sites in New Jersey from data residing in NJDEP's New Jersey Environmental Management System. A related mapping tool, i-MapNJ Brownfields (njgeodata4.state.nj.us/i-map/brownfields), allows the user to consider brownfields redevelopment opportunities and explore New Jersey data. i-MapNJ Brownfields was developed as a joint effort between the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Office of Information Technology, Office of State Planning, Governor's Urban Coordinating Council, and the Brownfields Redevelopment Task Force. Tutorials are available on the website, and NJDEP also offers training classes in i-MapNJ for the public. View the training page (www.nj.gov/dep/gis/imapnj/training.html) for session information. |
